Our Members'

The Alliance is the collective voice of Victorian Aboriginal communities working together to positively influence the future of Aboriginal children and young people.

Our 15 Members recognise The Alliance as the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in regional Victoria, delivering services to families and children.

Our Members' Programs

Alliance members provide a range of services to support the wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people to achieve strong families and thriving children.​

Below are the programs that support families and Aboriginal children and young people, including Aboriginal children in care. Each of our Members delivers different programs in response to their community needs. We recommend you connect with your local ACCO for services in your area.

Care

The Alliance and its Members work to support Aboriginal Children and young people who are not able to stay safely at home with their family.

 

ACCOs provide care services that are culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, timely and responsive to children and their family’s needs. Alliance members provide a range of care services including Kinship CareFoster Care and Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care (ACAC).

Family

The Alliance Members provide a range of family service programs designed to strengthen and support Aboriginal Families in community. These programs are responsive to the needs of community and delivered within cultural and community frameworks.

 

The programs include intensive family services, supporting families to stay together, emergency relief, family violence programs, Alcohol and other drugs, therapeutic services, parenting support and Aboriginal Family Led decision making.

Children and Youth

The Alliance members provide a wide variety of programs for children and youth. There is a particular focus on early years and many of our Members also provide health support, maternal child health services, paediatrics. This support is sometimes delivered through their medical clinics.

 

Support with learning is provided through homework and learning clubs as well as a range of cultural activities. Some of young people are supported through youth justice programs and other programs that seek to help young people who are vulnerable in different ways.
